Welcome new and returning HES families!

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I am sure it will be an excellent experience for all of us. My name is Lisa Takeuchi and I am the new PTA president this year. I'm including this note in your child's folder not only to introduce myself, but to ask for your support in ensuring the success of the PTA's efforts in enriching your child's school year. The HES community is a dynamic one, and our PTA sponsors many events and activities throughout the year. Our goal is to support and enhance the already excellent educational experience created by our teachers and administration.
 

Become a New Member 

The PTA works to make each year at Hammond Elementary the best possible school experience for our children. We fund cultural initiatives; after-school enrichment programs; community events such as BINGO Night, Multicultural Night and the Talent Show; and grants to teachers to purchase special instructional tools.

None of this is possible without YOUR involvement and support. Please become a member of the PTA or renew your membership. At only $8 annually for a single membership/$15 annually for a family membership, it's a small investment with a big return.
 

Volunteer

We have many great events throughout the year, but we cannot make them happen without help from our dedicated parents. There are lots of opportunities to help out - at school or from home, on weekdays, evenings or weekends. We have something to fit everyone's schedule! We don’t expect a huge time commitment from volunteers. An hour can be a big help to our group and the school, and we have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests. Just let us know whether a program, event, or activity interests you and when you might be free to help.
 

Participate

We host many fundraisers throughout the year. We encourage everyone to participate in as many as you can to support our PTA. The first fundraiser we offer is Innisbrook - they have many great products (wrapping paper, home decor, etc.) and the PTA receives a portion of your sales. We are very excited to announce the first family event we will have this year - the Fall Festival - held on October 14. There will be food, games and activities for your family. Ticket sales will start soon, so be on the lookout! The committee is still recruiting volunteers for this event!
