Volunteering at
Hammond Elementary School
In order to ensure
that all parents, grandparents and community members

at 9:30am, Friday September 25 at 2:15pm,
Tuesday September 29 at 6pm, Thursday October 1 at 9:30am

Volunteering
at Hammond
What is the role of a volunteer at HES? There are two types of
volunteers—
classroom volunteers and PTA volunteers.
What is a classroom volunteer? This is a person who works as part of a team in the grade pods. Classroom volunteers are asked to do a variety of chores including collating handouts, working on bulletin boards and working with a small group of children.
What roles are there for volunteering with the PTA? There are a variety of roles including fundraising, creative and marketing roles. If you have a skill, I’m sure the HES PTA can put it to good use!
Use this form to join
a committee.
Do you need to be trained to be a volunteer? To be a classroom volunteer you must be trained by the appropriate professional staff at HES. The training takes no more than 45 minutes.
What is the time commitment if I sign up to be a volunteer? There are lots of behind-the-scenes jobs that can take as little as 15 minutes a week up to projects that can take a couple of hours each week. You are encouraged to volunteer regardless of the time you have to offer.
How do you get involved? If you are new to HES, please
contact PTA president, Chris Armstrong.
They will be able to direct you to the appropriate person to talk to.
