HES TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Monday, May 5 - Friday, May 9

Form to Volunteer, Due April 25

Teacher appreciation week at Hammond Elementary is May 5th - May 9th. For those of you who are new to Hammond this year, teacher appreciation week is a formal time to show our children's teachers how much we appreciate all that they do. There are many different ways to do this, so this year, we would like to make sure we do something each day. Of course, if you want to do something extra that is always welcome!

Here is our class plans for the different days of the week:

Flowers - on Monday, May 5th, have your child bring in a flower or more for each of their favorite teachers. Please remember that the Related Arts' Teachers (PE, art, music, technology, media) and other staff members will have vases as well.

Tribute to the Staff - on Tuesday, May 6th, please have your child bring in a handmade picture, or poem, or thank you note, that expresses what they like about a teacher or what they think makes that teacher so fantastic. Again, please remember all the staff that plays a role in your child's school day.

Lunch - on Wednesday, May 7th. We would like to treat our teachers to lunch and would appreciate it if everyone would please send in an envelope with a cash donation ($5 or whatever you'd like. Please put, "Attn: Your grade level Teamparents - Private" marked on the outside of your envelope) along with the slip below. Your contribution will help us cover the cost of lunch and other activities for the week. We also will need a few volunteers to coordinate the lunch.

The PTA is hosting other special activities during the week for the teachers including afternoon treats, breakfast, and other special prizes.

Please send in the slip below with your envelope next week (April 21st week), so we can confirm who is doing what.
